Short statement.
I'm going to Bergen July 26th 2007, for a Socrates/Erasmus uni exchange, for my History bachelor last year. I created this blog early just because i had time to spend and because i was bored a lot. Of course its hard to wait so throwing my forces in that blog helps to be patient.

The blog wont be updated a lot til July. Of course I could present my project or the city or things about Norway but it would break some surprises or spontaneity. if you want some info about Bergen, see the links in the left column, or my myspace page to learn more about me.
I will write in English only because most of the lectors won't be french readers. I could write also spanish and french but it would take too much time and space so i'll had some translator links, even if its bad quality, its understandable.
I will probably add to each article, in the bottom, a piece of an Eddic poem.

Bergen vu depuis Sandviken (J.C Dahl)

All the entrances, before you walk forward,
you should look at,
you should spy out;
for you can't know for certain where enemies are sitting
ahead in the hall

Hi, the site is under migration / update during several hours / days, so if the layout is a bit fucked or strange, it's normal.

Hi folks

It's wednesday evening and my week is quite busy and intense... first with the results of the election in France i won't comment here, then with my finals and third with the announcement of the killer line up of the Hole In The Sky.
So monday I had 3 exams... 3 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours, so 8 hours without any rest. My first exam was about Pompeius (Roman Republic), my second one was about religion in the medieval Scandinavia and my third one was a text about Jeanne d'Arc which I totally fucked. At least the two first were easier.

I had some rest yesterday so I bought tickets for the mega-expansive but great metalfest of Bergen : the Hole In The Sky, with bands such as MayheM; Deströyer 666, Immortal, Napalm Death, Anaal Nahtrakh, Testament and the mighty old Sabbat.

Today I had an exam about the Heroes in the Greek ancient history... was pretty fun and I think I did a good job. Let's go for english exam tomorrow and geography exam monday 21th, no problem for those, will be easier.

I've thought about the trip I'll do to reach Hanstholm before sailing to Bergen. I'll probably take 2 days to cross Germany and 2 days to visite some old fortresses and runestones in Denmark.
I should receive my letter of acceptance from UiB very soon...and I'll start to prepare my stuff and checkilists in a few weeks. This year will blow out some asses!

Mercredi 29 août 2007
Well I just realized that  I have been here for already one month... here I can't find any time to do all what I would like to do... Stucked between walks, parties, courses, and so on. I would need 35 hours a day. I'll try to sum up that last month with a few lines and photos...
So  as said before I arrived July  27th. My friend went back to France August 3rd. A big BBQ party  was organized  down  the blocks of the  student hostel the saturday before the introduction week and it was fucking great to meet people, espite the fact that 35% of Fantoft is probably German and 15% probably French. Spanish are many too.  I also met some great people from Afghanistan. Until 7/9th of August I was alone in my floor but it got crowded in 3 days...
Then the Introduction Week (fadderuken or mentor week) started with some presentation of the university, of the courses, help to register step by step and so on, and some social activities (means massive drinking in Norwegian, hehehe). Best time of this week as a BBQ at a place called Kollevågen in Askøy, 30 minutes north from Bergen sentrum. Pølser and beer contests... fucking great. The 17th we had a free boat trip, could have been nice if the sky had not poured tons of water on the area. We were soaked by water and rowned into fog.

The week after, courses started, except Norwegian language courses. My first course of SAS13 (Norwegian history) was a walk in the old Bergen and turned into an urban history course. My first course of SAS14 (Norwegian art/culture) was just a presentation course... The same week I had the Hole In The Sky Festival. Four days of madness and mind crushing... 22, 23, 24, 25th of august. Most appreciated bands, in no particular order: Immortal, Meleschech, Vreid, Blood Tsunami, Deathcon, TestamenT, Deströyer 666... and many more. Met great people. Some frenchies I know came and we had a sunny and hot hike at Ulriken the 21th.

Hike to Ulriken

This monday (27th) I finally started my Norwegian courses. Its pretty cool, except once again the fact that 75% of my groups is actually German people. Otherwise, there is one guy from Sudan, one from Chile, 2 from Hong Kong, one from Czech Republic. Dag, the professor, comes from Lofthus in the Hardanger, so we learn the "West Coast" Norwegian (yo nigga!).
Stay tuned for updates.

Once again, I've deserted my blog for a while, and I know I will regret it later, because I promised to keep it updated about what I do here, what I don't do. I was also supposed to write articles about Bergen and so on, and things not only focusing about my activities. I don't neither. No time, no motivation, etc.
So here in the following articles is a rapid overview of what I did since January...  :-)

Well, lazyness, busyness and many other things made me abandon this blog for months, so an huuuuge update is coming now. Hell yeah. Shalom.
